The family dynamic was very real and I don't get emotional for makebeliefs but this drama really got me in the gut. The final episode gets me bawling when the families dispersed, reminds me of my youth separating from closeknitted families and friends from the same era as the drama.
When he confessed and then turned it into a joke it literally broke my heart into pieces I was like nooooooo whyyyyyy! They had a chemistry that taek and duk sun didn't have; I felt like taek and duk sun's relationship was more like siblings. I cried i laughed i get mad i get frustrated, excited and everything.
But despite that I still loved the drama so much and would definitely recommend it!!! The character made me feel that im with them every episode. I cried i laughed i get mad i get frustrated, excited and everything.
It's not enough for me since they had very limited duration to show their love. If you haven't watched this drama..are you doing??? I find myself crying every damn episode, it was just emotional and fun. I can't describe how great this drama is, but this drama is the most frequent drama I've ever watched ( I watched it maybe more than 5x).
The story itself made me reminiscent of my past and that's something everyone can truly relate to. It makes me understand how parents feel to their children, see them grow up and have to let them go when they have found their path.
It's full of realistic and relatable scenes/situations; I learned a lot about life and love. I cried almost every single episode (it's so deep and emotional ;-;) and I died of laughter every episode. After i watched this drama, i really disappointed when deok sun end up with taek when she supposedly with jung hwan ????????????? I read in a lot of sites the sadness and sympathy for Jung Hwan ( I feel the same way) but his love story gave us all a deep lesson. The girl was not aware that he was loved by him all along. But this drama is more than just the love triangle. He loved the girl and in life that's how it should be. It's been months since I finished this drama and I'm still not over it. Even though the story was simple and the episodes were reeeaaally long, it still managed to capture my heart and the actors managed to convey all the emotions so perfectly.
I also really liked the clues as to Duk Seon's husband which were cleverly placed throughout the series. I love how this drama leaves its audience feeling warm and heart-filled. I hesitated to watch it bc i didn't like the poster. i shipped deok sun - jung hwan more..until i watched ep 18, i really thought that she and jung hwan.to the poster Too beautiful for words. We love not because we want to be loved back but because we just love, we can't help to love the people around us. This drama made me laugh and cry and feel all type of ways and the themes of friendship, family and love were portrayed so so well.Duk-Sun's father Dong-Il (Sung Dong-Il) lost money due to guaranteeing someone else's debt.Nevertheless, Duk-Sun has a bright personality and enjoys singing and dancing. Sun-Woo is a model student at school, good son and good brother at home.I'd say this is up there as one of my favourite KDRAMA of all times. It makes me feel soo nostalgic eventhough I haven't born in 80 :)) Like it like it like it!!!!!!!!Thank you reply 1988, many lessons learned, many tears shed, but the memories will stay. they didn't show how taek and duk seon's relationship revealed to the family. who wants it more do anything and everything just to get their love without hesitations.. all the 5 lead actors/tress so adorable and did a brilliant acting. This drama is one of my favorites now after ignoring the Reply series several times in the past.i agree with army reply 1988 is my best family drama of all second is my father is strange. they didn't even show their wedding, instead they focused with bora and sun woo's wedding...ugh! and you should never blame anyone if you yourself didnt do anything or been always on hesitations... I have watched Reply 1997 earlier because of Jung Eun Ji and Seo In Guk and I liked it.
